About the Role:
The Front of House (FOH) Internship is a 12-week program designed to provide hands-on experience in all aspects of dining room operations, club functions, and event management. The intern will learn to supervise and train dining room staff while maintaining the highest standards of appearance, hospitality, and service. The program will involve rotating through various FOH positions, including serving, bartending, event coordination, management, and operations.
Learn to:
• Work all FOH stations.
• Learn how to schedule food and beverage and plan room set-up based on
anticipated reservations and member needs.
• Carefully supervise to help assure proper service to members and guests.
• Assure that all side work is accomplished, cleaning of equipment and storage areas
is completed according to schedule.
• Inspect dining room employees for proper and clean uniforms.
• Assist with pre-shift meetings with dining room personnel.
• Check the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and report deficiencies.
• Assure the correct appearance, cleanliness, and proper set-up of the dining rooms.
• Assist with the hiring, training and supervising of dining room staff.
• Learn to maintain and audit the POS system. (Jonas)
• Receive and handle complaints concerning food, beverages, or service under the
guidance of the Assistant General Manager.
• Assist with beverage inventory.
• Enforces all club rules and policies.
• Provide appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates and
job changes.
• Set up/breakdown events, create seating charts, and schedule within budgetary
restraints.
• Create Banquet Event Orders.
Qualifications:
• Must be a current hospitality management student or planning on joining the
hospitality industry post-graduation.
• Must have a flexible schedule for both AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Available to work at least 30 hours per week
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Multi-tasking capabilities
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
• Customer service or server experience
• Ability to perform all duties as instructed in training by supervisor
• Must be able to carry heavy trays of food, dishes, and glassware
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 35lbs, and work in varied indoor and outdoor settings.
