Golf
Our classically-designed, 18-hole Donald Ross championship golf course, which boasts a slope of 130 and a par 70 layout, is the centerpiece of the property. The well known Ross concept of architecture is still as evident today as it was in the early part of the 20th century. Experienced golfers can see the resemblance between other Ross gems across the country, and beginner golfers can easily appreciate the natural landscape and captivating water views. The course lies along the scenic Danvers River, which ebbs and flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The pull of the tides create an ever changing landscape.
Eight different tee placements make the course approachable for all levels. Our 9 holes of 'Little Links' encourage our youngest members to practice their skills and track their progress on their own score card. Whatever your handicap or experience, the course can be just as challenging as it is rewarding.
Kernwood Country Club was pleased to host the Massachusetts Open in 2007, the 4th time since its inception. In 2014, we welcomed the Massachusetts Golf Association back for their third Amateur Championship at Kernwood, which was previously held in 1923 and 1933.
